Poet Jayne Relaford Brown originally conceived her poem about a woman who, as she is aging, realizes she is becoming more and more comfortable with herself, that she is becoming more the woman she has always wanted to be. Not only her grey hair and soft curves, but her experiences are making her full and expectant of life and love.
